Being in nursery doesn’t last forever, and before you know it its time for your baby to start their new phase of starting infants (KS1).
If this is done properly it can be a great time for your child and a whole new adventure for them. Talk to your child about this and get them involved by explaining to them about being in a classroom, having their very own school uniform, which they look like such a big boy/girl in. Communicate with your child’s teacher so you know what to expect and can then explain to them, what to expect. All this helps in preparing your child so this transition goes smoothly.
There isn’t really a huge difference in going up to Juniors (KS2). The work is more of a challenge and your child may be in a different playground but mainly it’s just like any other transition. Of course, as your kid moves up there is more responsibility for them to consider such as class representative or library monitor but this is all part of growing up.
